The series' two hour premiere was released as a made-for-TV movie and released theatrically in March 1979. The twentieth century astronaut Buck Rogers emerges out of 500 years of suspended animation in the twenty-fifth century and becomes Earth's greatest hero. In this episode, Buck and Wilma discover a freighter who's crew are all found in a state between life and death and discover a "Vorvon," a vampire like being of legend, is alive and stalking them.
