From Nicolas Barker's review in The Book Collector: "a new catalogue of more than ordinary splendour. A dozen and a half manuscripts, among them a magnificent 13th century bible in a 15th century cuir-cise binding, an outstanding Italian book of hours, a royal copy of Octavien de Saint-Gelais's poems, the beautiful Gospel lectionary of the Abbey of St Victor, Cardinal Bembo's illuminated printed Petrarch, and a spectacular Stammbuch with beautiful 'silhouette' pages - all this accompanies a block book, some striking 15th century bindings, a wonderful Malermi bible, Mantegna's Triumphs of Caesar in 16th century Chiaroscuro, and the Picasso Buffon in an outstanding Bonet binding. It would be impertinent to describe this as the mixture as before, but at least it has the same taste, the same patent desire to surpass its predecessors, that has distinguished Mr Breslauer and Mr Grcib's previous catalogues." With Indexes of I Authors and Titles; II Artists, Binders, Calligraphers, Illuminators, &c., and III Some Special Subjects. Small bruise to top of front board, creasing to about a dozen leaves, otherwise Very Good. List of Prices laid in.
