Add to basketThe decoration is black lithographic transfer against a white ground, with some coloured highlights and gilding to emphasise parts of the design. It includes a central Group of figures representing the Empire, Britannia placed centrally with a lion and unicorn with flags, the crests of Canada, Australia, India and the Cape Colony, portrait heads of Queen Victoria and the Prince of Wales and a double hemisphere map of the world with British possessions marked in red and the plate has a gilt rim. There is one small chip to the underside of the rim but this cannot be seen from the front of the plate, there is no maker's mark only the RD number 63164 and a number 5 however the plate has been identified to be by Wallis Grimson the Staffordshire manufacturer.
