Paperback. Condition: Good. First Edition. Wraps. Staplebound 8vo., with the original publisher's full colour illustrated wrapper. pp 125Profusely illustrated throughout in colour (duotone) by Norman Pett ('Pett') with illus in text also. Quite risque or the 1940s. Some minor shelf-wear, slight loss at spine, no marks; used near vg. Illustrated by Norman Pett (1891-1960), who created the WWII era pin-up comic strip 'Jane' ('Britain's secret weapon' - Churchill). A rare offering from Rylee publishers, who started life in the inter-war period as commercial photographers before moving into printing and publishing post war, mainly reprints of children's classics, and books on trains. This somewhat adult offering was out of character, and the sequel promised in the blurb does not appear to have materialised. Freeman / Gristead (1903 - 1972) also wrote for The Eagle. Uncommon, two copies only on WorldCat.
