Gleichzeitig begann er immer mehr Augenkrankheiten zu behandeln, so "dass er schließlich als Augenarzt galt und als solcher sogar nach dem Tode von Rosas bei der Besetzung der Lehrkanzel für Augenheilkunde in Erwägung gezogen wurde" (Lesky, Wien, S. 422). - Hirschberg VI. õ 1231, S. 367.
