The recipient was Jeanne Moreau, the French actress, whom Druillet probably met during the filming of Sorcerer (1977), directed by her husband, William Friedkin. A radical update of Flaubert's tale of Ancient Carthage, reflecting the influence of Lovecraftian imagery on Druillet's work.
