Auf dem fliegenden Vorsatz handschriftlich betitelt: "Eine Sammlung Gelegenheits-Verse ernsten und heiteren Inhalts von Dr. Th. Hach, gesammelt von seiner treuen Ehefrau Wilhelmine, herausgegeben We…ihnacht 1896". Der Band umfasst zahlreiche Verse und Gedanken aus den Jahren 1889-1898 aus Anlass von Familienfeierlichkeiten der Lübecker Juristenfamilie Hach sowie befreundeter Lübecker Persönlichkeiten (Hochzeiten, Taufen, Konfirmationen, Geburstage, Polterabende, Umzüge usw.). Er beginnt mit einem Vers anlässlich der Hochzeit Hachs mit Anna Wilhelmine Meyer am 4.9.1889: "Einen schönen Morgengruß, einen langen Liebeskuß, nimms von deinem künftgen Mann, liebes Brautchen hiermit an. Theo kann auf Dich nicht warten, nett im grünen Blumengarten, muß er jetzt o welche Pein, bei den alten Büchern sein!". - Arnold Henrich Theodor Hach (1846-1910) war Lübecker Jurist und Kulturhistoriker. Schwerpunkt seiner Tätigkeit war die Aufarbeitung der Kunst- und Kulturgeschichte der Hansestadt Lübeck. - Berieben und bestoßen. Leicht gebräunt und wenig stockfleckig. Ansonsten in guter Erhaltung.

Central-Commission für Künste und historische Denkmale: "Als vor fast einem Jahre die schmerzliche Kunde von dem Hinscheiden des Professors an der Universität München und ersten Conservators am Bayerisc…hen Nationalmuseum, Dr. Josef Anton Meßmer, sich verbreitete, wurden namentlich die Kreise, welchen das Studium christlicher Archäologie und mittelalterlicher Kunst am Herzen liegt, mit gerechter Trauer um den Verlust eines Mannes erfüllt, welcher auf dem von ihm betriebenen Gebiete der Wissenschaft Hervorragendes geleistet, eine der wichtigsten Fragen: die nach dem Ursprunge der christlichen Basilika, endgültig gelöst hatte und von dessen unermüdlicher Arbeitskraft und bewundernswerter Gründlichkeit man noch manchen werthvollen wissenschaftlichen Baustein, sowie den Abschluß eines bereits begonnenen Handbuches der kirchlichen Kunstarchäologie erhoffen durfte [.]". - Kurz, worum Hach ersucht, ist die Erlaubnis "zum Wiederabdruck der in den 'Mittheilungen der k.k. Central-Commission' enthaltenen Arbeiten des verstorbenen Prof. Dr. J. A. Meßmer in München zum Zwecke der Aufnahme derselben in die zu veranstaltende Gesamtausgabe von dessen Arbeiten". - Hach wurde 1885 Konservator am Kulturhistorischen Museum in Lübeck und war von 1889 bis 1910 Stadtbibliothekar daselbst. - J. A. Frh. v. Helfert war seit 1848 im Wiener Unterrichtsministerium tätig, gründete das Institut für Österreichische Geschichtsforschung an der Universität Wien, war Präsident der Zentralkommission zur Erforschung und Erhaltung der Kunst- und historischen Denkmäler und vertrat seit seiner Aufnahme ins Herrenhaus 1881 eine konservativ-patriotische Linie. Daneben war der Jurist und Historiker Präsident der Leo-Gesellschaft, Schwester der deutschen Görres-Gesellschaft, und Verfasser zahlreicher historischer Arbeiten.
