[.] An dem Alten jedoch haften so viele liebe Erinnerungen, daß wir es mit Wehmuth nur stürzen sehen. [.] Vielen nun wird es eine Wohltat sein, liebe Erinnerungen an die alte Zeit wenigstens im Bilde festgehalten zu wissen und für diese haben der Künstler und der Herausgeber vorliegender Sammlung von treuen Lebensskizzen aus 'Hamburg an der Woterkant' eine solche Wohltat schaffen wollen wie sie selber in diesem Schaffen eine solche Wohltat fanden. [.]" (Vorwort) . - - - Rücken der Leinen-Mappe alt restauriert; beide Deckel sind stellenweise gedunkelt und etwas fleckig. Die Vorsätze und Innenklappen der Mappe befinden sich in guter Erhaltung! - Das Titelblatt wurde bei der Restaurierung links und rechts etwas beschnitten. Das Doppelblatt mit den Bilderläuterungen ist im Falz zur Hälfte eingerissen. Die breitrandigen Tafeln sind nur im äußersten Rand ganz vereinzelt minimal fleckig bzw. staubrandig.
