Condition: Fair. 244 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth. Contains black and white illustrations. Moderate tanning, with light foxing and marking to pages. Heavy tanning and foxing to text block edges. Cracks to guttering throughout, with exposed netting. Light tanning and foxing to pastedowns and endpapers, with pencil inscriptions to front. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Heavy bumping to corners and crushing to spine ends, causing cloth to fray. Book has noticeable forward lean.

Condition: Good. C. 1951. Light wear to boards. Content has light toning to pages with some foxing throughout. Fair DJ with some chips/tears, marks, foxing and price clipped.

Lightly rubbed spine ends, cloth wearing; front board mottling, light wearing to boards. Top text block edge dusty, all edges to tanned and foxed. Gutters strained, volume quite loose. Tanning and foxing on prelims, occasional light foxing and tanning throughout. Otherwise, internally neat and clean.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 1st edition with ND, but known to have been published in 1951. Red boards, no dw, and slight marks to the edges of the boards. The book has been translated by L Hudson. It contains some information from diaries received by the author from a friend, Jan van Overhof, who committed suicide, having gambled away a fortune.
