Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Rare vintage 2nd volume from the World Wide Publishing Company's Mystery Double Deck Series. This volume contains Edgar Wallace's "The Thief in the Night" and Percy Heath's "Slightly Scarlet." The book is undated but circa about 1930. It is generally in Good condition… seeing as it appears to have been cheaply printed. The covers have some mild wear. The binding is very tight, so this wouldn't make a good reading copy as it would require forcing the book open more than it naturally wants to go which would most likely result in damaging the binding. A few pages at the rear of the book have a very tiny chip to the bottom corner and there is a small tear towards the top of the front & back pastedowns near the hinge. The interior is tanned from age but generally nice and clean, though there may be the very occasional page with some kind of minor imperfection such as a light bit of foxing or grubbiness, creased page corner, tiny chip or tear, minor stain or marking, etc. The book comes in its original dustjacket which is in Very Good- condition with some small chips and tears and a tiny bit of old dried adhesive towards the top & bottom edge. The jacket comes in a protective removable mylar wrapper. The actual maroon cloth covers of the book only have some minor wear. The book measures approximately 6 5/8 inches by 4 1/4 inches and is 183+184 pages long. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.

Written by Percy Heath and Samuel Hoffenstein adapted from Robert Louis Stevenson's novel. ///// "Second White Script" dated August 7, 1931 [and dated again March 8, 1940 wh…en the script was copied by MGM for the film's remake with Spencer Tracy.] 8.5x11", pale blue studio covers fastened with two brad posts. Stamped Vault Copy/File Copy, with partially peeled studio label at top. 169 mimeographed pages. ///// The 1931 film was nominated for three academy awards, with Frederic March winning best actor. The film was made prior to the full enforcement of the Production and is remembered today for its strong sexual content. A print was rediscovered in 1967. Unknown whether the copy of the original 1931 script, which was used to make this 1940 version, survived. ///// CONDITION: Covers toned at margins, with minor handling and fading to covers, edgewear to rear wrapper.
