dj. First Edition. [Cookery anthology] FIRST EDITION, SIGNED PRESENTATION COPY. Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.260. With vignette illustrations within the text. Publisher's green cloth hardcovers in pictorial dust-jacket. Editor's inscription to the endpaper: "Renee Hellman - Christmas 1961", with recipient's name 'Dawn Field' above. A fine copy of the book in a very good jacket with some small nicks tears and rubs, one larger tear to rear. A selection of favourite recipes from famous people, with a foreword by A. Dickson Wright. Includes Ian Fleming on scrambled eggs, plus contributions from his friends including Noel Coward, Lady Diana Cooper, Wolf Mankowitz and Paul Gallico. A scarce book. Fleming's piece, published as 'Scrambled Eggs' had the working title 'Scrambled Eggs James Bond'. Within his fictional works Fleming provided two recipes; this one for scrambled eggs (007 In New York, 1964) and a recipe for fudge (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, 1964). This copy comes from the comprehensive bibliographical archive assembled by Jon Gilbert (pencilled ownership within). His encyclopaedic guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Gilbert C99. Signed.
