Neuware -Der Physiker Otto Rudolf Henker (1874-1926) übernahm 1908 die Leitung der neugegründeten Brillenabteilung im Jenaer Zeisswerk, in die er bald die Entwicklung medizinisch-optischer Geräte einschloß. So schuf er in Verbindung mit vielen Ärzten und Kliniken Lupen, Spezialbrillen, Beleuchtungs- und Bestrahlungseinrichtungen und vor allem wichtige Geräte für Augenärzte und Augenoptiker, zum Beispiel Ophthalmoskope nach A. Gullstrand, eine Spaltlampe nach Gullstrand, A. Vogt und L. Koeppe, vielerlei Zubehör zur Verordnung und Anpassung der Sehhilfen, darunter seinen neuartigen Scheitelbrechwertmesser (1916) und sein Parallaxen-Refraktometer (1922). Nebenbei entwickelte H. auch Cystoskope und Geräte zur Untersuchung und Photographie von Trommelfell und Kehlkopf. Außerdem förderte er, nachdem 1911 das Punktal-Glas herausgekommen war, mit großem Eifer die Heranbildung eines tüchtigen Augenoptikerstandes und die Errichtung der Jenaer Optikerschule, an der er anfänglich selbst lehrte. Von großer pädagogischer Veranlagung zeugt unter anderem das vorliende Werk 'Einführung in die Brillenlehre' (1921), welches auch ins englische, französische u. spanische übersetzt wurde.Der vorliegende Band ist mit 339 S/W Abbildungen illustriert.Nachdruck der Originalauflage von 1921. 340 pp. Deutsch.
