A complete history of Firth's, originally published in instalments in 'The Bombshell'. This is the first book form edition, a very scarce volume.Firth's was a merchants and manufacturers company of files, saw and edge tools. Opening with a chapter on the early beginnings, and concluding through to the activities of the company during the Great War, with record of the seventies and eighties, some personalities prior to 1900, and developments throughout.Illustrated with frontispiece and further plates in black and white. In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding over paper covered boards. Externally very smart with light bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities, boards lightly marked. Previous ownership inscription to front free endpaper, dated 1924. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to fore edge affecting only occasional leaf, pages otherwise generally bright and clean.
