Seltene Originalausgabe und authentisches Zeugnis zum Mathematik- bzw. Rechenunterricht im frühen 19. Jahrhundert. Adolf Diesterweg (1790-1866) hatte vor allem Naturwissenschaften und Mathematik studiert. In Frankfurt a.M. war er 1812 Lehrer unter Gottlieb Anton Gruner, einem Anhänger Pestalozzis und ehem. Leiter der Frankfurter 'Musterschule' (1805-1810), danach "Lehrer und Schulleiter in Elberfeld, wo er Einflüsse Basedows und Rochows in seine Praxis einbezog. Von 1820 bis 1832 wirkte er Seminardirektor in Moers" (Martin Simmen). Peter Heuser (1784-1866) war Realschullehrer in Wuppertal-Elberfeld (s. Lemke,1993,676 (Nr.3839/3840). - Innendeckel von sehr alter Hand mit Zahlenreihen beschrieben, vereinzelt auch Korrekturen im Text bzw. Anmerkungen, zwei zeitgenössische Nameneintragungen (H. A. Berghaus u. W. . (?)) auf Titelblatt (dieses etw. fleckig von Tinte (?)). Papier z.T. etw. 'eselsohrig', nur vereinzelt etw. stockig. Einband berieben und an einigen Stellen etw. abgeschabt. Insg. für ein Gebrauchsbuch aber noch ordentliches Exemplar.
