In Canada, 72 species in 38 genera and three families are reported as a…dventive, constituting 7.4% of the national fauna of this group. Most adventive species belong to Chrysomelidae (61 spp.) followed by Cerambycidae (10 spp.). Many species cause substantial economic damage to forests, crops, and stored pruducts. Eighteen species were intentionally introduced as biocontrol agents against perennial weeds. Each adventive species is reviewed and illustrated with color habitus photos. The Canadian distribution for each species is mapped and the general distribution in the USA provided. General habitat information for each species is summarized and a taxonomic diagnosis provided.
