A valuable study of 20th century "little magazines" - literary magazines produced to publish artistic work primarily for the sake of publication rather than with a view to profit. Includes much information on a large number of such publications, the genre having undergone a renaissance just before the First World War, with many contributors to such magazines going on to establish important literary reputations. Poetry in Transition, The Dial, to name but a few - but they also emphasize certain important tendencies which these illustrate. " The second half of the book is devoted to the bibliography. Covers rubbed and a little marked, edges somewhat spotted, contents Good.…
