Swedish artist Helge Artelius illustrated many children's books that blended Scandinavian folklore with fairy tale charm. His work often focused on magical creatures like tomtar (gnomes andelves), forest spirits, and animals, which were central to Swedish fairy stories. Relatively unknown, 'Beyond the Blus Mountains' epitomises such style.
