Wife of John Churchill 1st Duke of Marlborough, designer and instigator of the rebuilding of Woodstock Manor (which later became Blenheim Palace). Titles she held under the Queen Anne "Groom of the Stole", "Keeper of the Privy Purse", "Ranger of Great Windsor Park". She was the only woman ever to be given this title and only one of 2 women to hold the "Privy Purse" (The Queen's favourite being the other Abigal Masham). She was portrayed in the 2018 film "The Favourite" by Rachel Weitz.
