Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Earth was part of a universe-wide collection of races, known as the Imperium of Sovereign Races Fleet (ISR). Worlds capable of sustaining the various life forms of the ISR were few, and the races who needed more space to live were many. So, the most important rule for all ISR worlds was to wait for a planet to be terraformed for your particular race's needs and then colonize it. But humans, unlike all the other ISR races, were a short-lived race, barely living to a thousand, when all the other races easily lived beyond two. Humans made up for their short lifespan by being fast breeders. Where other races took a millennium to reproduce thousands, humans could reproduce billions. Because of these traits, humans needed more and more colonies to accommodate their growing populations. So, any world terraformed to standards in which human life could thrive, Earth would quickly claim and send in colony ships. When the ISR had enough of Earth's violations of colony rights, war on Earth was declared. Earth, however, had been planning for such an event and was preparing for the war, which they knew would eventually come. To this end, there was Atlantis. Atlantis was Earth's most advanced research and development facility, located on an island in the middle of an ocean. And deep within this facility was the largest, most sophisticated Super Dreadnaught ever conceived. It was bigger, stronger, and faster than any ship the ISR possessed. But it was years away from being completed when the ISR demanded surrender or death. Earth chose to fight and sped up production. But, the ISR eventually beat back all of Earth's forces and eliminated all but one Earth colony, Eden, which had broken away from Earth's control, long before the war was declared. The ISR could not break through Earth's defensive shield, so they did the next best thing: they melted the polar ice caps and drowned humanity and sent Earth back to the Stone Age before they could complete and launch the Atlantis. Tens of thousands of years later, the ISR has returned and is threatening to cause another extinction-level event unless Earth surrenders and abandons its colonies in the SOL solar system. However, this time, the ISR has received assistance. The Earthling Preservation Society had infiltrated the ISR and was willing to not only help Earth with valuable information but also find the super dreadnaught, which they hoped was still buried deep inside Atlantis. But first, they had to find the island, Atlantis. They needed to hope that the ship was finished, that they could get it into orbit around the Earth, and that it would be strong enough to force the ISR back to the negotiation table. That was a loss of hope, with little to no backup plan. But any hope was better than a third human extinction event.…

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Sixteen-year-old Jason Glover was a farmer. His father had been a farmer, and his great-grandfather, as well as his great-great-grandfather, all the way back as far as the Speaker of the Word had recorded his family history. But Jason didn't mind. Farming was a noble trade, and he was excellent at it. And even though the birth rates in his village were low, he had managed to become engaged to the prettiest and most fruitful family in the entire village. Mike and Margery Fleming had two living sons and three living daughters! They were the miracle family of the village. The Flemings were also farmers but grew lettuce and cabbage, rather than corn. Thirteen-year-old Marina was their oldest daughter and Jason's fiancée. Marina had been in love with Jason since she was ten, but it took Jason another year to realize that he was in love with her as well. Marina was already the prettiest girl in the whole village, as well as smart and friendly. Once Jason made up his mind to marry her, they both made it official by getting their parents to consent. Since both of their allowed farming plots were next to each other, it meant both families could help each other in farming, as well as making it through the harsh winters in North Floda. Even Jason's baby sister, the stubborn, hard-headed, and sometimes lethal Ruby, approved of the joining. They all expected the two to wed, have as many children as possible, and grow old together. But the Lord, Baron Mooney, had other plans. He sent his soldiers to round up every unmarried girl from every village under his command, from the age of thirteen to nineteen summers. The Baron was getting old and still didn't have an heir to his throne. Baron Mooney decided that if he had enough females to mate with, eventually, one would produce a male heir. As each girl reached her eighteenth harvest ceremony, Baron Mooney would wed her and be hers until she gave him a male heir or got too old for him to enjoy. Of course, Jason and a few of the other farmers of his village found this arrangement unacceptable, and in the end, several soldiers and many villagers lay dead, including Jason's parents, and Jason's little seven-year-old sister lay bleeding with an arrow in her tiny chest. As more of the barons show up and the teenage females are taken away, Jason and a handful of surviving villagers are forced to flee for their lives but manage to carry away little Ruby. Jason makes a vow as he heads off into the nearby woods; he'll find a way to free Marina before her eighteenth Harvest Festival, or he will die in the process.…

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - The Deep Space Station Delta ( DSS-4 ) was the crowning jewel of the United Nations. Located in the Alpha Centauri triple star system, DSS-4 was very near the wormhole, which connected the SOL system to the Alpha Centauri system. For the nearly twelve thousand servicemen, women, and their families, it was home. Just a few short months earlier, Earth, or more precisely, the United Nations, was given the chance to earn a voting seat on the Orion Sentient Races Council. There were a total of forty-three members of the Orion Sentient Races Council; however, only ten were voting members until Earth earned the right to vote, unlike those who were only part of the general assembly. The problem with this arrangement was that the Quarii only voted new races a seat at the big table so they could enact a clause in the bylaws that stated that a single voting race could challenge a new voting member to a test of power once and only once. If the challenger lost, the new race could immediately take their seat, and the losing challenger had to pay war reparations to the winner, which had to cover all losses incurred by them, plus death benefits and replacement costs for all damages. However, if the challenger won, then the new race must pay war reparations to the winner, which must cover all losses incurred by them, plus death benefits and replacement costs for all damages. And also, be enslaved to the winning race for a period of one hundred solar cycles, during which the winner was entitled to all natural resources of the losing race, including control over their home planet and all colonies for that same period of time. The captain of DSS-4 saw no way he could beat the armada heading for them, even if they had Earth's entire fleet to help them out. All they had were a few small ships and starfighters. So, Captain Parks decided to employ the strategies that all human commanders resorted to when confronted with impossible odds: guerrilla tactics, deception, misdirection, confusion, and plain old sneakiness. Although they had no hope of defeating the Quarii Armada, Captain Parks believed that if he could inflict enough damage, Earth might still be able to fend off the remnants of the Quarii invasion fleet and achieve ultimate victory.…

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Roger Turklinski, son of Jack Turklinski, known as The Turk, was the undisputed profit king of the Turk Trading Empire. Since the passing of his entire family at the hands of assassins, Turk had kept his father's legacy alive. Fighting raiders, marauders, and occasionally rival trading companies to make a profit, Turk always managed to squeak out enough profit to keep his empire in the black. But soon after rescuing a mysterious Tracker who had lost all his memory due to a gunshot wound to the head, Turk started taking on bigger and even more profitable Tracker jobs. The biggest and possibly most profitable would come in the form of a very lovely young lady who wanted to use Turk's Tracker to find her kidnapped brother. However, accepting that job brought more than Roger could handle. It put Turk and his people in the crosshairs of what remained of the U.S. government and every minor and major faction left in the wasteland. All of them are gunning to gain the advantage that the woman's brother could bring to their organization. The kidnapped boy was actually a genius who knew how to bring the power back and get every electrical piece of equipment working again. Including tanks, airplanes, and electricity. Every faction in America wanted that advantage and was willing to kill Roger and all his people to get it.…

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - After rescuing Malcolm Ironchest, the son of a raider warlord, thinking he was Jeffrey, Turk and his band of fighters, along with Tracker, continue their search for Irene's genius little brother, Jeffrey. After escaping from 'COG 27,' they continued the search, narrowing down each suspected faction, group, or organization with enough firepower, support, and wealth to pull off Jeffrey's kidnapping. But the U.S. government and other powerful factions think that Mal is Jeffrey and come after Turk and his people to get the boy genius. Turk will lose more people in an attempt to continue the search while being pursued by factions that have nothing to lose and are willing to sacrifice the lives of all their fighters to steal Jeffry (Mal) away. But when a mystical person in the form of an old man and a beautiful woman puts them on the right path, Turk walks his people into a trap and a reunion with Turk's uncle John Dukland, the West Coast leader of the largest faction outside the U.S. government itself. Now it's not only Turk's mission to find Jeffrey, it's to survive the ambush and get his remaining people out of harm's way. And to make matters worse, there is a traitor in Turk's ranks, wanting to collect the one hundred and fifty thousand gold coin bounty put on Turk's head by his uncle John Dukland and cousin, Black Jack, the notorious leader of Duke's Marauders. …

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. The Mega Mall of Shenandoah's was the largest mall in the world in retail square feet and actual size. Its Grand KGMM Hotel was also the world's largest in number of rooms and luxuries. For Joshua Lee, it was his crowning achievement and his masterpiece. Everything was going according to plane and it looked as if his most expensive venture would pay for itself many times over. But terrorists from Iran didn't care about Josh's Maga Mall. Hell, they didn't even know him or his family. They only knew their mission. To destroy America and make it pay for all the suffering it had caused the government and people of Iran. To this end, the leadership of Iran had planned numerous attacks, meant to crimple the U.S. and its government, piece by piece. It just so happened, that this action would have a devastating effect on the country, Josh loved so much and his Mall, which would find itself in the middle of a struggle for survival. The U.S. Government's response to the terrorist attacks would be swift and decisive, but ultimately, too late. Because of the Mall's independent power grid, survivors would see it as a beacon of hope. But for those already taking refuges inside the mall, it would mean disaster. Too few resources, for too many refugees. When the National Guard showed up to take charge and turn the hotel and Mall into a FEMA camp, Josh had no choice but allow it. But when tens of thousands of armed refugees showed up demanding entry, it was no longer a choice of who they would let in and who would have to be turned away. Tens of thousands of people were already stretching the FEMA camp's resources to a breaking point and tens of thousands more would mean everyone would starve. It now would be us versus them and maybe, just maybe, when the smoke cleared, there would be enough left for the winners to stay alive a few more days. This item is printed on demand.
