Lithuania and Latvia. Highlights the charms and folk culture of nations pinned behind the Iron Curtain but now accessible by aeroflot planes, Soviet steamers and Soviet railways. 28 pages, illustrated. 9-1/4" by 8-1/2" format, illustrated.

One of a number of USSR propaganda publications issued to coincide with The USSR Industrial Exhibition in London in July 1961 that I am offering. Condition: Good. 1934. First Edition. 234 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth. Pages are mildly tanned. Mild cracking to gutters, however binding remains firm. Mild thumb-marking present. Boards have light edgewear with corner crushing and mild marking to boards. Moderate sunning to board edges and heavy tanning spine, which has mild crushing to ends.

No Binding. Condition: Very Good. A vintage folded map of the Russian city of Leningrad - now known by its original name of St. Petersburg. All the texts and captions are in French. Folded, the map measures 5.5" x 8.25"; opened up, it measures 22" x 16.5". One side has a map of the center of the city done in several colors, with lists of various sites and services for the tourist. The reverse gives more detailed information on some of the city's most important sites and is illustrated with vintage b/w photographs on seven panels. The final panel is the cover of the map as shown in the accompanying photograph. This cover is in a reddish-orange color and features a statue of Lenin in front of a façade of a communist-era building topped by a star. In excellent condition. Multiply-folded travel brochure extolling & celebrating the Soviet Union's multi-ethnic make-up, and promoting it as an enticement to prospective tourists. No date. Illustrated with photos, drawings, and a colourful, central graphic map of Soviet ethnic locations (but not dispersal).Some light wear to edges & corners but clean and bright with no tears or stains. Former travel agency stamp on back.

Front cover has some watercolor art of Moscow with the word "Moscow" at the top. The back is similar except with Leningrad. There is a folded map of Moscow attached to the back cover on the inside.
