SPO0333999 The daily newspaper of the 1936 Summer Olympic Games, mostly in German with some picture captions also in English and French. This edition is for the opening day ceremonies and published on August 2, 1936 with a cover photo of the grand entrance to the Olympic Stadium led by Adolf Hitler with the officials of the IOC trailing behind. This edition has four sections with a total of 32 pages. Many black and white photographs including of delegations marching in native garb, the Olympic Torch being carried by various athletes towards the stadium, displays of military might, cameos of athletes, and the festivities of the opening day. There are also cartoons, ads, and the schedule of events. We have a 17 paper run of these papers from August 2 to August 18, or number 13 to 29. All papers are in very good shape with some browning to edges, some short tears, and folded into quarters. Each paper individually priced.
