Front and back hinges are cracked but pages are all still secure. Boards covered in dark red fabric with gilt titling on front and spine. Edges are worn; corners are bumped. Top/tail of spine are bumped with tiny spots beginning to fray, but overall the exterior is in quite good condition for the book's age. What distinguishes it from many others of its kind in this era is the inclusion of photographic portraits of each contributor (including photographs of paintings or drawings for those whose photos were never taken).
