Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Design more effective social work programs with research data from your clinical files!A well-planned research program helps social workers provide consistent, effective services to their clients, but stretched budgets and tight schedules make it difficult to find the resources for data gathering. Clinical Data-Mining in Practice-Based Research shows how you can use the existing records already kept by every health-care institution as your primary data source. By analyzing documented clinical information, you can do groundbreaking research and custom-tailor programs to fit the specific needs of your department. Clinical Data-Mining in Practice-Based Research draws from the experiences of members of the Mount Sinai Department of Social Work staff. By analyzing case data, these professionals were able to identify biopsychosocial factors that affected social-health outcomes. These practice-based research strategies helped social work professionals see their own work more clearly and helped improve the quality of direct services, interventions, new programs, and case evaluations. Clinical Data-Mining in Practice-Based Research shows the benefits of practice-based research, including: enhancing clinical and administrative functions encouraging direct-service workers to become more reflective fostering cooperation between social workers and other staff members designing earlier, easier, and more effective interventions contributing to continuing education for staff members improving patient care and satisfactionThe detailed discussions in this book will help you apply these techniques toward improving your own service. Clinical Data-Mining in Practice-Based Research offers fresh and exciting ideas that can be applied in small health-care agencies or giant medical centers. It will become a trusted reference for administrators, social workers, researchers, and educators in the field.

Hardcover. Condition: VG+. No Jacket. Photos, Player Move Diagrams (illustrator). 2nd. This little volume on early NZ Rubgy, and advice on how the game could be better played, has become something of a treasure to collectors of books on the code. This second edition is not dated by probably c1929. Early text concentrates on the development of the game in the 1880s and Dunedin and the Otago sides provide the book's focus point. As the sub-title states the author is generous with his "Some Hints and Criticisms." Chapter One is devoted to the "Criticisms" and the author's account of a number of international and top level encounters provide the platform for his comments. "Hints" come in Chapter Two which carries the title "The Game, The Meaning of it: How to play It.'" Here all fectors of the game. and players, are considered with his hints of game skills and tactics explained in simple diagramatic form as well as in the text. The final chapter is headed "Reflections" and contains the author's opinions of the game, observations on it, predictions and prospects, plus commonts on its administration and administrators. "Criticisms" are also found in the "Refections" chapter and one on refereeing is typicat, stating:: " At the present day refereeing is very bad. For many years we have had butr one good referee in Dunedin, and he naturally has not been a 'persiona grata.' Referees from abroard have not made me think the position in Dunedin is exceptional." In his section "The Press and the Game" the author wrote: "Reporters of football (in the past) knew the game, understood how it should be played, and recognised the very definite gulf which often lies between merit and successs. They understood the vaulue of true amateurism and regarded the pot hunter with a proper abhorrance. This was before the days of American 'boost' and optimism; at a time when teams of footballers were not regarded as advertisers of cigarettes, boots etc, before they had been named 'our real ambassadors.' " Throughout this thoughtful litte book there are observations and some uncanny predictions. This second edition of the book is not dated but references in the text indicate it would have been the late 1920s or very early' 30s and it thus reviews the history of the first 50 years of the game in NZ. 129 pages including index, illustrated with frontis portrait of Pat Keogh, described by the author as "The most brilliant New Zealand player of my time", nine b/w photos, numerous small positional and movement diagrams. Light brown hard covers with black front titles are VG+, light bumps to front corners, light brusisng at spine extremities, faded ink name etc of original owner on front pastedown, with tiny ink name at top and top edge FFEP, text block in excellent condition throughout. A top-notch copy of this rugby classic.

INTRODUCTION 1.1 This report describes the work carried out by Taylor Woodrow Construction Limited (!WC) in a study aimed at identifying features Which may be incorporated at the design stage of future nuclear power plants to facilitate their eventual decommissioning and, in so dOing, promote economic and radiological benefits at the decommissioning stage. 1.2 For the purposes of this study, decommissioning of a nuclear facility means those measures taken at the end of the facility's operating life to remove it from the site and restore the site to green field conditions, and, While so doing, ensure the continued protection of the public from any residual radioactivity or other potential hazards present in or emanating from the facility. The overall decommissioning process involves eventual dismantling and demolition and may also include, Where possible and appropriate, the intermediate steps of renewal and refurbishing.
