The book is in very good condition; the dustwrapper is good minus (rubbed and spotted, edges chafed). This volume includes the following 13 plates: The doorway of Temple Church, Mansion House Cheapside, The Tower and Mint, The Custom House, London Bridge, London from Greenwich, Blackfriars from Southwark Bridge, Westminster Abbey, Whitehall, St James Palace, Buckingham Palace, Regent Street, The Club-houses of Pall Mall.

Condition: Good. Facsimile of the 1842 edition, complete in two hardback volumes. Folio (51cm by 38cm), 26 colour plates, plus a page of text for each plate. Publisher's binding of quarter red morocco, grey cloth boards, gilt titling to the spines, red morocco title label to the front board of volume 2. There is some foxing of the boards and the endpapers; overall, this set is in good to very good condition.

Folio, 9 x 11 inches. 17 pp. text + 40 full-page reproductions of pen and ink drawings. Loosely inserted is a letter on headed notepaper from Mrs Maud Adeline Cloudesley Brereton to W. Pryor, to whom the book was given as a gift. Original oatmeal cloth. A very good copy in like, unclipped dust wrapper. Brodzky, a Russian-Australian, was noted for his single-line technique, which relied solely on outlines to convey what other artists might convey with shading and texture. His studies are predominantly of female nudes. Mrs. Cloudesley Brereton was known principally for her work in public health and, speaking of the book in her letter, says '.I bought it because [a] friend James Laver wrote the letterpress' and describes it as 'Essentially an Artists' book of Art.'
