Vintage borderless photograph from the 1938 film, showing an exterior street set, with a bridge in the foreground. Mimeo snipe and provenance label on the verso. Based on Eugène Dabit's 1929 novel. Director Marcel Carné's prewar, mood-drenched masterpiece, following his thematically similar 1938 film "Port of Shadows," and preceding the much greater fame that would come to his work in 1945 with "Children of Paradise." Photograph
Collection of 30 vintage press photographs and contact sheets from promotional events for the 1960 French-Italian film, here under the original French title, "Terrain vague." All photographs housed in a large brown folder with the French title in manuscript ink on the flap. Based on Hal Ellson's groundbreaking 1950 cult novel "Tomboy." Dan (Gaubert) is a tough gang leader who dresses and fights like a man. She and two others, including Babar (Bras) are ostracized due to their behavior, and she falls in love with Lucky (Cafarelli) while Babar commits suicide. A late entry for film noir regular and poetic realist Carné, whose notable credits include "Port of Shadows" (1938), "The Devil's Envoys" (1942), and "Children of Paradise" (1945). Set in Paris. Photos range in size from 4.75 x 6.75 inches to 9 x 11.25 inches. Very Good plus overall, foxing to versos, light curling and rubbing.

Photograph
Six vintage press photographs for the 1960 film. Housed in a brown paper envelope, presumably as issued. Envelope with manuscript ink annotation. Loosely based on the 1950 novel, "Tomboy" by Hal Ellson. A teenage girl tomboy is the leader of a gang of other young people. The crimes they commit become more serious, leading her and two other members to be ostracized and on the run. Set in the Paris suburbs. 7.25 x 5 inches. Good with foxing at the right and left side of the photographs and some wear to the finish.
