Slight wear and soiling. Includes illustrations. Most illustrations in color. Mary Tyler Moore is on the cover. People is an American weekly magazine of celebrity and… human-interest stories, published by Time Inc. With a readership of 46.6 million adults, People has the largest audience of any American magazine. It was named "Magazine of the Year" by Advertising Age in October 2005, for excellence in editorial, circulation and advertising. People ranked #6 on Advertising Age's annual "A-list" and #3 on Adweek's "Brand Blazers" list in October 2006. The magazine runs a roughly 50/50 mix of celebrity and human-interest articles. People's editors claim to refrain from printing pure celebrity gossip, enough to lead celebrity publicists to propose exclusives to the magazine, and evidence of what one staffer calls a "publicist-friendly strategy". People is perhaps best known for its yearly special issues. The magazine's headquarters are in New York and it has editorial bureaus in Los Angeles and in London. This issue covers in part the life, career and death of Mary Tyler Moore (1936-2017). There is also articles on the Immigration ban and the Duggar daughters. Among the standard features are sections on Scoop, Star Tracks, Passages, Style, Beauty, Food, Puzzler, and One Last Thing. Mary Tyler Moore (December 29, 1936 January 25, 2017) was an American actress, and producer. She is best known for her roles on The Dick Van Dyke Show (19611966) and The Mary Tyler Moore Show (19701977), which "helped define a new vision of American womanhood" and "appealed to an audience facing the new trials of modern-day existence". Moore won six Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. In film, Moore was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Ordinary People Moore had major supporting roles in the musical film Thoroughly Modern Millie and the dark comedy film Flirting with Disaster. Moore also received praise for her performance in the television film Heartsounds. Rex Shutterstock (Cover photograph) (illustrator).
