First Edition. acknowledgements, 2 appendices and reproductions of newspaper articles. Ochre coloured endpapers. The text is illustrated with numerous black and white photographs. Black coloured boards with white illustrations on the front board and white writing on the spine. Rubbing to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and the spine is slightly cocked. Rubbing to the book corners and shelfwear to the lower book edges. Browning to the text book edges. Photographic dust wrapper, showing Dr Cairns with his supporters on the front panel and a crowd picture of the moratorium on the back panel. Gilt, black and white writing on the front panel and gilt and white on the spine. Rubbing to the dust wrapper corners with slight chipping to the top dust wrapper corners. Rubbing to the dust wrapper edges. There is a 1" tear to the top left-hand corner of the front panel. Moisture staining is noticeable to the verso of the dust wrapper. On the 8th of May 1969 there occurred in Melbourne a massive popular march against the unpopular Vietnam war.
