Boards were detached but have been re-attached with archival tape. Pages foxed and top corner waterstained; otherwise, text clean. The rare first edition of the debate between prominent Protestant minister Campbell and Catholic bishop Purcell. The public debate was a notable instance of civil discourse between opposing religious leaders, rare during a time of rampant anti-Catholicism in the United States.
