The book measures 4" wide by 6" tall. This copy is in fine condition, unmarked, bright, tight, white and square. There are burgundy endpapers. As with all Collins' Clear-Type editions this book is undated but it is believed that it was purchased sometime between 1910 and 1920. He is known for his satirical works, particularly his 1847-1848 novel Vanity Fair, a panoramic portrait of British society, and the 1844 novel The Luck of Barry Lyndon. The History of Samuel Titmarsh and the Great Hoggarty Diamond (1841), which was an earlier version of the young married life described in Philip; and The Luck of Barry Lyndon (1844; revised as The Memoirs of Barry Lyndon, 1856).
