Back cover is still very secure to spine. Despite this the pages are still quite tightly bound to spine save for the first handful which are a bit loose but still attached. Pa…ges are yellowing with quite a bit of foxing and some bowing near the middle of the pages. Spine itself is quite tattered but most of the guilting is still intact. Title page does not contain a publishing year and there is no publisher's page to speak off, so the publishing date is assumed unknown. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" Tall. Leather.

Condition Report Externally Spine - very good condition - gilt titles, gilt decoration to the spine compartments, rubbed, marked and worn. Joints - very good condition - sound, rubbed and worn. Corners - very good condition - rubbed and worn. Boards - good condition - half morocco leather and marbled paper covered boards, worn with damage and minor loss to the join between the marbled paper and leather to Vol I, otherwise minor marks and scratches. Page edges - good condition - top edge gilt, others tanned and foxed. Binding - very good condition - attractive. See above and photos. Internally Hinges - very good condition - sound. Paste downs - very good condition - marbled paper, bookplate. End papers - very good condition - marbled, subsequently tanned and foxed. Title - good condition - tanned and foxed.
