Februar 2010 in Hamburg) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller und Rundfunkredakteur. Er schuf für den Stern die Comicserie Taró, die bis 1968 erschien. Er war für mehrere Jahre Leiter des Nachwuchsstudios des Norddeutschen Rundfunks. Seine bekanntesten Romane sind Das Denkmal und Stadttheater. Nach Kriegsende und Studium begann Fritz Raab 1949 seine Tätigkeit als freier Schriftsteller. Er hat ungefähr 250 Hörfunk- und 50 Fernsehmanuskripte verfasst. Daneben erschienen mehrere Kinderbücher von ihm. 1959 schuf er für die Zeitschrift Stern die Comicserie Taró, die durch umfangreiche Hintergrundrecherchen und außergewöhnlicher Darstellungsqualität das Schema konventioneller Abenteuerserien durchbrach. Die Figur Taró der Indianer erschien über einen längeren Zeitpunkt in der Beilage des STERN für Kinder Sternchen. Diese Comicserie, damals Bildergeschichte genannt, wurde von F. W. Preserved in the original quarter-brown cloth over printed boards portfolio, black lettering on front cover (some rubbing, edgewear, wear to spine, wear to corners, light toning to the plates), still a VG- copy, w/ bright plates. First edition of this very rare sample portfolio for altar cloth designs by the noted German commercial artist Heinrich Mittag (1859-1920), whose interior designs for church and state buildings included the Town Hall of Hildesheim, Bahlsen biscuit advertising cards and series, as well as illustrating the Great Book of the City of Hanover later in 1910. The plates are beautifully executed by Julius Klinkhardt, best remembered for his massive printer's specimen book later issued in 1892. These altar designs include silk altar cloths for Christmas, the Passion Cycle, Easter, and Pentecost. Worldcat locates 2 copies (Gottingen & Landesbibliothek Coburg).
