Original copy of Island Topics, published May 01, 1935 and utilizing the recent patented metal spiral binding process, which is even advertised on one of their pages. This Art Deco style magazine was designed for the Chicago elite and covers topics reg…arding everything from style to sophisticated tid-bits. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white drawings and photographs. The inside of the rear cover as a full color ad for the Packard Eight, Super Eight, and Twelve. Some of the articles include From Halifax to Total Pole, Chicago's Black City, Horse Hydrophobia, Go West Young Lady, Medieval Chicago, Dude Ranches and various other stories. All of the pages are secure although the magazine appears well read. The corners show bumps and creases and the pages toned. Exterior shows scuffing and soiling along with edge and corner bumps as well, with the bottom edge of the magazine showing the most wear The only handwriting found in the book is on the front cover where there is a penciled scribble mark in one of the flowers and the number eight between the I and C of the word TOPICS. No other handwriting found in the book.
