Water colour / ink wash sketch of a carriage driver, in close up, with his cap and crop. Signed indecipherably (by us at least) but perhaps Juif Vanu ? To the rear is written No 641 chêne uni [] There is a tear where the lower part of plain paper (not affecting image) has been torn off. We have repaired this with archival tape to the rear of the picture but the split is slightly visible to the front. Held under a white passe partout and ready for framing. An attractive piece of accomplished portraiture. Image approximately 22cm x 19cm. Mount is 42cm x 29.5cm. .
