Mit einem Bevölkerungsanteil von 39 Prozent stellen die Hispanos dort seit 2014 außerdem die größte ethnische Gruppe noch vor den Weißen. Angesichts dieser Zahlen wird deutlich, welch bedeutende Rolle der spanischen Sprache in Kalifornien zukommt. Die enge Sprachkontaktsituation mit dem Englischen hat außerdem zu einer Reihe linguistischer Kontaktphänomene geführt, die diese Varietät von anderen Varietäten des Spanischen unterscheidet, und von besonderem linguistischem Interesse sind. Daher soll die Varietät des Spanischen in Kalifornien in der vorliegenden Arbeit Gegenstand der Untersuchung sein. Anhand von vier Interviews soll erfasst werden, welche Bedürfnisse geflüchtete Frauen hinsichtlich ihres Sicherheitsgefühls und der Stabilisierung nach ihrer Flucht und im Ankunftsland Deutschland haben. Auch wird darauf eingegangen, wie die Lebensbedingungen insbesondere in den Unterkünften aussehen müssen, um ihre traumatischen Erfahrungen erfolgreich bewältigen zu können. Der Fokus soll auf die traumapädagogische Arbeit pädagogischer Fachkräfte gelegt werden - wie die Zielgruppe unterstützt werden kann und auf welche Herausforderungen sie stoßen. Es werden vier Interviews mit Expertinnen erfasst, um die Notwendigkeiten der Zielgruppe zu ermitteln und anhand von theoretischen Konzepten zur Traumaforschung, insbesondere der sequentiellen Traumatisierung nach Keilson (1979) und 'der Pädagogik des Sicheren Ortes' von Martin Kühn ergänzt. Für die Praxis der Sozialen Arbeit werden die Leitlinien der Traumapädagogik nach Scherwath & Friedrich (2014) hinzugezogen. Die Literaturrecherche im Zuge dieser Arbeit hat gezeigt, dass es wenig spezifische Literatur gibt, die sich einzig mit Frauen auf der Flucht beschäftigt.
