The Ninth Fort is a stronghold in the northern part of ?ilainiai elderate, Kaunas, Lithuania. It is a part of the Kaunas Fortress, built in the late 19th century. During the Soviet occupation, the fort was used as a prison and way-station for prisoners being transported to labour camps. After the occupation of Lithuania by Nazi Germany, the fort was used as a place of execution for Jews, captured Soviets, and others. This little book contains a brief account of some of the atrocities carried out at the Ninth Fort. The book is staple-bound in the original illustrated card covers with titling on the front cover. The book is in good to very good condition with shelf wear to the covers, noticeable rubbing down the spine and creases across the front corners. The contents are secure and clean with no inscription.
