Includes an English-language c.1970 trifold exhibition brochure titled 'Tapestries' relating to the book which ties in with the Nordenfjeldske kunstindustrimuseum exhibition (National Museum of Decorative Arts). Profusely illustrated with mostly black and white plates, some fold-out, showing Ryggen's extraordinary tapestries, deceptively rustic in style, with weighty themes protesting against war, the abuses of power, and authoritarian regimes. Ryggen used wool from her own sheep and devised her own dyes. Quite rare.
