The Kerrs (illustrator). '40's reprint and it's like new, inside and out. Almost certainly never read. Trim. tight, square and clean as a whistle with no previous owner markings. Near perfect jacket in new mylar. Wonderful old book.

Garis, writing as Victor Appleton. Rear dust jacket panel lists Tom Swift books 29 - 38, through Tom Swift and His Planet Stone, published in 1935; so the book was printed after 1935.

Vol.#34 in the original Tom Swift series, which was comprised of 40 volumes featuring the young inventor written by writers in the Stratemeyer Syndicate's stable of authors under the pseudonym Victor Appleton II (this one actually by Howard Garis). 218 pp. Originally published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1931, this is one of the slightly later Whitman reprints (#2162), with 9 titles on front flap & back cover of DJ & slightly different DJ cover art (by "The Kerrs'). Hardcover 12mo has tan cloth-covered boards stamped with darker brown lettering to front & spine. Condition is VG+: quite clean & bright, binding straight & strong, front hinge cracked. Pages heavily tanned, but unmarked. Remnants of old price sticker to ffep. Mild rubbing to extremities & very slight bumping to corners. The unclipped DJ is VG- (minus): very bright & colorful, with some significant chipping & heavy rubbing to both ends of spine, corners, & flap edges; nicely protected in new mylar cover Free! First edition. 14" x 6" 8 Panel flyer, that folds to 6" x 31/2", illustrated. The bungalows and apartments each contain from 4 to 7 rooms, all fully furnished, including linen and silverware.
