Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Recherches pour servir la flore cryptogamique des Flandres. Centuries 1-5. Brussels, Hayez, 1840-1855. 4to. 46 + 46 + 51 + 60 + 63 + (1 blank) + vii pp. Original blue cloth-backed marbled boards, gilt title on spine; boards slightly rubbed. Jean Kickx (1803-64) was professor of botany at the University of Ghent. His objective in publishing this work was to provide a cryptogamic flora of east and west Flanders, a supplement to his Flore cryptogamique des environs de Louvain (1835) and to the classified catalogue of Westendorp and Van Haesendonck (Ghent, 1854). None of the plants described in the present volume had been included in the latter works. Full descriptions are given with place of sighting and references to authorities and published illustrations; a 7-page index to all five parts concludes the work. A very good copy with only faint spotting at endpapers. Pritzel 4657.
