Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Apparent First Edition (NAP, September 1967 on Title page, includes Errata slip). However, the last page also references the printing of the Kurusapha Press on May 29th, 1968. I think that the few books in print were published at the same time. The author has Signed and inscribed the book on the FFEP to a Dr. and Mrs. Anthony (the 'K' for Kingkeo looks more like a 'B', maybe for a nickname, see 4th photo). Edward M. Anthony has signed his name on front inside cover. This book is 596 pages with a full-page color map following the last numbered page. There is also a color fold-out map and a few pages of B&W photographs, all at the end of the book. Maps and photos are in Excellent condition, as is everything in this book. The pages are very clean. I don't see any soiling or markings or writing/underlining anywhere. As you can see from the photographs, the covers look Very Good. There are a few small dark spots on the rear cover (3rd photo). One thing to note: While the book is very solidly bound from cover to cover, both covers do bow outward somewhat, as opposed to lying flat. This work was 'Submitted to the faculty of the Graduate School in partial fulfillment of the requirements for degree of Philosophy in the Institute of Folklore, Indiana Universiity September, 1967". Inscribed by Author(s).
Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Softcover with excellent pages and VG exterior (light handling, edge ding). 109 pages. The original writings on the left, with English translations on the right-hand pages. Poetry. [7oz]. Book.

Originalleinen. Condition: Gut. 597 S. plus 1 Faltkarte. Einband leicht berieben. - This particular study is concerned with the cultural analysis of the folklore of Ban Nai hamlet in Napa, a village community in the province of Cholburi, Central Thailand. It is an attempt to understand the people's ways of thinking and living as expressed in their oral traditions, namely prose narratives, verses, and songs. These data were collected in the field mainly between October, 1964, and January, 1965. The aims in conducting this field research were: To present for the first time a substantial body of folklore materials collected in depth in a Thai community. To analyze the reflection in folklore of popular religion, ideals, and practices. At the same time, the analysis will touch upon the essence of storytelling in relation to the people's system of ethical and social controls. To examine briefly and state the relationships between the geographical setting and the economic activities which play an important role in popular beliefs. Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 550.
