Loosely inserted hand written note with details on a scandal one of the previous residents of Kenilworth, Robert Dudley, 1st Earl of Leicester, was involved in. All edges gilt, generally clean throughout, the mildest of spotting to prelims. Front hinge cracked, still attached, previous owner's neat 5mm signature to top corner of blank prelim. Bound in purple buckram, which patchy loss of colour, spine fully faded. Gilt lettering and emblem to front board and spine. Extremities rubbed, spine ends bumped. Scarce. Good+.

No inscriptions. So a reasonably good copy with faults to 1st 4 pages and last page (228) and in need of rebinding.
