(illustrator). 1st Edition. 315 pages + 47 page publishers catalogue dated Septemebr 1909, photo frontispiece 5 other photo illustrations and 31 pencil line drawing by the author as head pieces, original blue cloth with gilt titles and gilt ruled borders, some handling and a few light spots and a half ring-mark on top board, a couple of headings have been blanked out and page edges have some small foxing spots, contents firm and text clean. Octavo. Approx 20 x 13 cm. Patterson wrote under the name "John Knowlittle" for the Norfolk EDP newspaper for years and was a renowned sporting enthusiast and wildfowler, expert on wading birds, eel-fishing, Norfolk wildlife and flora.

Half-Leather. Condition: Very Good. 2nd Edition. Blue boards with black leather back strip and gilt titles to spine and front board. Looks to have been professionally rebound, a very nice copy of this interesting work. Neat inscription to front paste down and contemporary adverts to rear.
