2teiliges Konvolut zu einer epochalen, zu Unrecht kaum bekannten Entwicklung im Dieselmotorenbau von einem ehem. leitendem Ober-Ingenieur/Konstrukteur der Daimler-Benz AG, Julius Witzky (1903-1981 oder 1982), der u.a. maßgeblich an der Entwicklung von Schnellbootmotoren während des 2. Weltkrieges beteiligt war und nach dem Krieg als Entwickler zahlreicher weiterer Motoren wirkte, z.B. für den Mercedes PKW Typ 170 (und als Mitentwickler des Unimog!). Witzkys Erfindung des pumpenlosen Dieselmotors wurde von der Industrie nicht umgesetzt und erlitt dasselbe Schicksal wie andere Erfindungen, weil die Hersteller kein Interesse an Konstruktionen hatten (und haben!), die ihrer vorhandenen Produktpalette entgegenstehen, hohe Investitionen erfordern oder auch langlebiger/haltbarer als die konservativen eigenen Motoren sind (vergleichbar etwa mit dem Wankelmotor von Felix Wankel, der außer im NSU Ro 80 und Mazda-Fahrzeugen von der Automobilindustrie nicht aufgegriffen, weiterentwickelt oder in Großserie gebaut wurde). Witzkys pumpenloser Dieselmotor hätte sicherlich den Dieselmotorenbau und seine Anwendung revolutioniert, leider verliefen die Bemühungen Witzkys und seines Vertreters Bischoff um einen Großserienbau im Sande und so existieren heute darüber lediglich diese beiden Schriftstücke (und natürlich das erteilte US-Patent 115438). Technik- und Motorgeschichtlich von großer Bedeutung und noch größerer Seltenheit; so wurden von diesem Broschur mit den technischen Spezifikationen, Zeichnungen und Erläuterungen wohl nur wenige Exemplare gedruckt und zusammen mit dem beiliegendem Begleitschreiben an einige namhafte Firmen verschickt (hier konkret die Howaldtswerke), die dann jedoch eine Übernahme der Erfindung bzw. der Bau aus den bekannten Gründen verwarfen. Die wenigen überhaupt hergestellten und verschickten Exemplare gingen offensichtlich an den Absender zurück und gerieten im Laufe der Jahrzehnte in Vergessenheit (unsere Stücke stammen von einem befreundeten, mittlerweile verstorbenen Ingenieurskollegen). So verbleiben von einer "großen" Erfindung nur mehr diese beiden einzig existenten Realstücke, die aufgrund ihrer Seltenheit und technikgeschichtlichen Bedeutung zu den interessanten Raritäten des Dieselmotorenbaus gezählt werden können. Diese beiden Realstücke sind erstens: Der Broschur mit zahlreichen Details in Wort und Bild über den neuartigen, von Julius Witzky erfundenen pumpenlosen Dieselmotor, DIN A5 Format, hellblaues Cover, schwarze Titelei, 8seitiger Text mit aufschlußreichen Details über die Konstruktion, und 7 ausfaltbare, doppelblattgroße Tafeln mit präzisen technischen Zeichnungen desselben. Privatdruck, ohne Verlag. Und zweitens der Brief (DIN A4 Format, vorgedruckter Briefkopf Emil Bischoff, 1951, Eingangsstempel Howaldtswerke) vom Vertreter der Motorkonstruktion, Emil Bischoff, an die Howaldtswerke, fast eine ganze Seite Schreibmschinentext über den Motor und seinen Erfinder, wörtlich: "Beiliegend gestatte ich mir Ihnen eine Beschreibung über einen pumpenlosen Dieselmotor zu übersenden, in der Annahme, dass Sie als massgebende Firma auf dem Dieselmotorenfeld, an einer solch neuen Sache grosses Interesse haben dürften. Ein Versuchsmotor läuft bereits seit 9 Monaten und wurde von einem führenden amerikan. Dieselmotorenwerk gebaut. Die dort angestellten Versuche haben gezeigt, dass es möglich ist Dieselmotoren ohne Einspritzpumpe zu bauen. Die neuesten Probeläufe haben ergeben, dass der Motor bereits bei 90 U/Min. ohne jede Fehlzündung angesprungen ist. Aufgrund dieser ausgezeichneten Resultate hat sich nun eines der bedeutendsten amerikan. Dieselmotorenwerke entschlossen zwei weitere Motoren nach diesem Verfahren zu bauen, und zwar einen Motor für einen Traktor und einen für den Antrieb eines Generators. Der Motor ist sehr kraftstoffunempfindlich, sodass sogar Benzin verwendet werden kann. Der Erfinder des pumpenlosen Dieselmotors, Herr Julius Witzky, war vor und während des Krieges, Obering. und Leiter der Diesel.
