Betjeman loaned several items to this exhibition and provided an introduction to this catalogue. Inscribed by Betjeman to the poet Mary Wilson, wife of the Prime Minister Harold Wilson, later Lord Wilson of Rievaulx: 'Mary with love from John B 1975'. He had been appointed Poet Laureate during Harold Wilson's premiership.
