Vintage poster for "Towards the Real Reality: Being the Tale of Their Move from City to Country and the Deepening of Their Relationship with the Mysteries of the Earth," an exhibition and series of performances by Bruce Lacey and Jill Bruce at The Acme Gallery, London, September 7-19, 1981. OCLC locates no holdings. Bruce Lacey was a British actor, artist, comedian, experimental musician, and performance artist best known for his work with "The Alberts" music and comedy performance group, and the 1950s British radio comedy "The Goon Show." In the late 1970s and early 1980s Lacey was involved in a number of performance pieces and exhibitions with his then wife, actress Jill Bruce, involving "Earth Magic," such as the exhibition and performances of "Towards the Real Reality," found here. Acme Studios is a London based arts charity providing affordable studio and living space for visual artists. From 1976 through 1981 Acme ran The Acme Gallery in the Covent Garden district of London, a contemporary art space which focused on showcasing installation and performance art difficult to exhibit elsewhere. 16.5 x 23.25 inches. Very Good plus, with a vertical and a horizontal crease from being previously folded.
