First published in Russian & 'roughly' translated into English in 1970. These Russian revisions/translations of the original Oz story by thi Soviet writer 'are better known than Baum's in many parts of the world including Russia and Asia', according to the description of this title in the catalogue of the wonderful Bolerium Books of San Franciso. A new translation and edition of an original Oz story by the Soviet writer whose Oz translations into Russian and original stories are better known than Baum's in many parts of the world including Russia and Asia. This is the fourth book of five he wrote after translating "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." Only 3 holdings located in OCLC as of 5/2021.

(15, 5 blanks) pp. of text + 153 leaves. Publisher's black imitation leather with silver lettering on spine and front board. A very fine copy. With a preface by Laumer and an introductory note by Jean Sellem. The latter says about the book that it "is an iconographic and literary document which Hardy Strid created before and subsequent to the founding of Bauhaus Situationiste Sweden [.] The document illustrates in an metaphorical way Strid's impressions of the cultural atmosphere in Scandinavia and of the 'Situationistic' period of 1961-62.".
