In the publisher's original cloth binding. All edges gilt. 52 delightful colour plates. Collated complete. This work gives a brief overview of the famous performances of 49 celebrated contemporary actors and actresses, including Henry Irving and Ellen Terry. In their colour portraits, they wear the costume of the characters they portrayed. In publisher's original cloth binding. Externally very smart, with minimal bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of the spine, and a couple of small stains to the boards. There is a faint mark to the front board. Otherwise, colour is good and gilt is bright. Internally, binding is slightly strained at page 25, but is otherwise firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Very Good. book.
