The company gained an excellent reputation for its elegant, well-built wooden cars for street railway companies, interurban lines, and rapid transit service. Cities large and small used Jewett cars. Many interurban lines employed the graceful, arch-windowed, wood interurban that Jewett was famous for. Competition from automobiles and from larger car builders such as J. G. Brill and the St. Louis Car Company signaled the beginning of the end for Jewett. The company was offered the opportunity to produce munitions for World War I, but refused when a German nationalist banker who was a major source of financing for Jewett refused to allow the company to do anything that would harm Germany. As a result, the Jewett Car Company died, but the reputation of their product survives to this day.

Lawrence's relationship with both his motorcycles, motorcycling and with the eponymous maker George Brough. It traces his early motorcycle experience and details the seven Brough Superiors that he owned and the eighth on order at the time of his death. Contains quotes from both TE's and Brough's letters and the text of the chapter from The Mint, on Speed. Includes black and white reproductions.

First limited edition of only 52 copies, 2001. This number 27. 26 students asked to submit work to be printed on a 1901 Albion direct press. This copy, obviously, the first to be sold after the 26 students had their copies presumeably. Has a blind-stamp for Canterbury College, and an indescipherable signature in red ink to the free front end-page. Basically an Alphabet book, obviously scarce. No copies available on websites. Blue cloth silver lettering some light scuffing to the rear. No dustjacket, presume none issued for such a short run. Very good indeed.
