If Conklin had arrived in San Francisco before the 1967 Summer of Love there would have been a ?Big Six' group of great psychedelic poster artists of the Bay Area along with Rick Griffin, Alton Kelley, Vic- tor Moscoso, Stanley Mouse and Wes Wil- son. Conklin claims to have never taken LSD before he set out to produce tens of iconic concert posters for Bill Graham. This beautifully executed portrait of, pre- sumably, a fairy was produced after he re- started his career in 1990 and long after he had confirmed his artistic vision of the six- ties by taking LSD.
