Vintage reference photograph of director Earle Rodney with a camera crew on the set of the 1925 short film, setting up a shot with actors Bobby Vernon and Frances Lee. Annotations in manuscript pencil on the verso. An American infantryman attempts to reunite with his sweetheart in Paris, but instead finds himself the object of affection of the "Darling of Paris"-and the object of ire of her boyfriend. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good plus, with a small bruise at the center top margin.

If Conklin had arrived in San Francisco before the 1967 Summer of Love there would have been a ?Big Six' group of great psychedelic poster artists of the Bay Area along with Rick Griffin, Alton Kelley, Vic- tor Moscoso, Stanley Mouse and Wes Wil- son. Conklin claims to have never taken LSD before he set out to produce tens of iconic concert posters for Bill Graham. This beautifully executed portrait of, pre- sumably, a fairy was produced after he re- started his career in 1990 and long after he had confirmed his artistic vision of the six- ties by taking LSD. Explaining perhaps the open third eye above the figure. 243803.
