Good-looking, structurally sound copy in softcover format, an exhibition catalog for a show at the Lefebre Gallery that ran in 1969 and that is preceded by an essay by the gallery co-owner and founder, John Lefebre. Sharp and distinct black-and-white reproductions of the Chinese painter and illustrator's best-known works. Square softcover format measuring 7 1/4" on each side, side-stapled. Unpaginated, but roughly 8 pp. The Lefebre Gallery was established in 1960 by John and Ljuba Lefebre at 47 East 77th Street in Manhattan, New York. A solid usable small 25 page ribbon tied booklet in original tan paper wrappers, printed in gold and red, tied with lavender ribbon.Text very nicely printed in purple and gold. Included are text excerpts from previous LeFebre gallery catalogues: 1965 and 1967 (John LeFebre); 1976 (Gerald Nordland); and 1982 (John Canaday) - all pertaining to works of German artist, Horst Antes. Nordland was a museum director, art critic, educator and author.Dean of the Chouinard Art Institute (1960-64), Director of the San Francisco Museum of Art (now SFMoMA) (1966-73), Milwaukee Art Museum (1977-85), and the UCLA Wight Art Gallery (1973-1977). He is the author of over 60 publications, including books on Lachaise, Nakian, Diebenkorn and Frank Lloyd Wright.
