Book has been recased in modern cloth covered boards, and shows signs of once having had a spine remnant or other spine lable laid down on spine, but no longer extant. Some rubbing and light nicking to spine ends. Binder has used green cloth-patterned paper for front and rear endpapers, with presumed original marbled free endpapers still intact. Cracking along front and rear joints of endpapers, although text block is still holding very firmly. Foxing to some of the plates. Binding firm. Due to the size and weight of this book, additional shipping may be required for expedited and international orders. . Hard Cover. Very Good.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Later printing. NVG. Full leather binding, beveled edges, 5 raised bands on spine, gilt lettering, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. Rubbed at extremities with superficial scuffing around all edges, spine a little darkened. Leather is clean and remains supple. One small stain at fore edge of first two pages, otherwise clean throughout, all 61 engravings have tissue guards, binding and hinges are sound. Please note that the frontispiece has, in addition to the small fore-edge stain, a small splash of red ink that intrudes a tiny bit on the left side of the engraving (see the last picture, above). This is a very nice copy and the engravings are beautiful.
